In the second phase of the evaluation and selection process, 15 applicants who had passed the first phase remote evaluation, were interviewed.

Applicant profiles

60% of the interviewed applicants were male and 40% female. Applicants in this evaluation phase were of 8 different nationalities.

Awarded Fellows

The available funding has permitted awarding altogether seven fellowships: five 3-years, one 2-years, and one 1-year fellowship. Four of the awarded researchers are female and three male.

The awarded projects are distributed among four scientific programmes:

• 2 projects – I Active aging and Frailty
• 2 projects – II Nutrition and endocrine and metabolic diseases
• 1 project – III Infectious and immunological diseases and organ transplantation
• 2 projects – IV Cancer (Oncology and Oncohematology)
