Eligibility

Recognised Researchers, R2, are PhD holders or equivalent who are not yet fully independent. You can check the extended description about R2 at EURAXESS
Yes, if they fulfil the eligibility requirements. Medical Doctor (MD) studies are not considered as equivalent to PhD studies. The candidates holding MD, should also have PhD or 4 years or full time equivalent postgraduate research experience.

Yes. Researchers of any nationality can apply.
Yes, if you will obtain your PhD before the call deadline (i.e. 10/01/2020), or you can demonstrate at least 4 years of full time equivalent research experience since having obtained the degree that gives you access to PhD studies.
A family allowance will be paid in case the researcher has family obligations. In this context, family is defined as persons linked to the researcher: (i) by marriage; (ii) by a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognised by the legislation of the country or region where this relationship was formalised; (iii) as dependent children who are actually being maintained by the researcher. The family status of a researcher will be determined at the date of deadline of the call (i.e. 10 January 2020) and will not be revised during the fellowship. The family allowance amounts to EUR 450 per month.
If you fulfil the mobility rule, then yes. Researchers that have not lived more than 12 months in Spain during the 3 years before the call deadline, are eligible. Note that the mobility rule is not the only rule concerning researcher eligibility. Please see detailed eligibility criteria in Eligibility

Application

The application deadline is 10/01/2020 at midnight CET.
To fulfil the international mobility rule, you must demonstrate that you have not resided (e.g. worked or studied) more than 12 months in the 3 years before the call deadline in Spain. This can be demonstrated by an official document such as work contract, certification of studies issued by an educational institution, official certificate of unemployment, or similar document that clearly shows your country of residence and activity. If you are uncertain about your eligibility, please contact the Helpdesk.
Having at least 4 years of postgraduate research experience can be demonstrated by an official document such as work contract or certification of studies issued by an educational institution.
The eligibility for family allowance can be proved by presenting any official document that demonstrates the applicant’s family status at the time of application (i.e call deadline 10/01/2020): family book, official marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.
No. You can translate the PhD degree yourself. You don’t have to translate it if it was originally issued in English or Spanish.
No. Only one application per researcher is allowed.
Yes, but only if the request is sent via the Helpdesk at least 5 working days before the call deadline.
The PhD award date is the date that appears in the official PhD certificate.
Yes, you can apply to other MSCA programmes at the same time, but you can only submit one application to IMIBIC-P2Med.

No, applications must be written in English.

Selection process

All interviews will be held by tele- or videoconference.
No. All interviews will be conducted in English.
After the call has closed, all applicants will be informed first if their application is eligible. The evaluation of the CV and project proposal will be sent to applicants in April/May 2020. The evaluation of the interview and final result of the selection process will be send to applicants in May/June 2020.
Yes, you can file a formal request for redress via the Helpdesk if you believe that a mistake has been made during the selection process that may affect the outcome of the eligibility check or evaluation. The redress procedure is not intended to object or to challenge the scientific or technical opinion of adequately qualified experts. For more information, please see Redress procedure.

Fellowship characteristics

The duration of the fellowship can be up to 36 months, and minimum 12 months. The duration must be in full months. It cannot be 24.5 months for example. The candidates may propose the length based on their research project, training and personal needs.
The Gross Salary per year is 34.850 € (without family allowance) and 38.930 € (with family allowance).

There will be only one call for proposals in this programme.
The application period is 01/10/2019 – 10/01/2020. The call closes on 10/01/2020 at midnight CET.
Minimum of 6 fellowships will be granted.
The final selection is done in May/June 2020.
The selected Fellows must incorporate to IMIBIC between June and September 2020.
The fellowships projects will be developed within the research lines of the IMIBIC’s Consolidated and Emerging research groups and with a focus onPersonalised and Precision Medicine.
