Who can apply

The Fellowships are targeted to:

Recognised Researchers (R2) based on the research profile descriptors of the European Commission. Eligible Recognised Researchers must be in possession of a PhD or have at least 4 years of full time postgraduate research experience by the call deadline.

All applicants must comply with the International Mobility Rule: The applicant must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.

See detailed Eligibility criteria.

Researchers of any nationality and age can apply.

Equal opportunities

The programme is open to experienced researchers of all nationalities, sex, ethnicity, religion, sexuality and age, and encourages applications from women, disadvantaged groups and researchers returning to a research career.

In order to ensure equal opportunities to researchers that have experienced a career break or have unconventional career paths, we will take into account, in duly justified cases, personal circumstances that may have affected applicants’ research career. The CV template includes a section where the applicant can explain any personal circumstances that have led to career breaks.

The fellowships are open to candidates through the Science4Refugees initiative.

Special Needs Allowance

The selected IMIBIC-P2Med Fellows with disability who face additional costs due to the increased cost of their mobility, may apply for an additional allowance. The aim of this allowance is to support those with a long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment, whose participation in the programme entails extra expenses. The allowance can be used to cover, for example, the costs of assistance by third persons or to adapt their work environment. The special needs allowance can be applied for only after the appointment of the Fellow. For more information, please visit the European Commission’s website.
